Q: Let’s say it’s the beginning of the quarter and you wanted to carry something around that tells you when and where your classes are.

A: I usually don’t do that but I list down things that aren’t repetitive.

JU likes to conserve paper – is careful about not printing out the footer.

Q: Is it intuitive that a map would show up when you click on the room number?

JU: Yes

Q: How would you go about adding a reminder?

JU right clicks >add reminder > text message

Q: How would you go about finding an event?

A: I’d click find events..

Q: How would you go about finding an event?

A: Go to find events

Q: In what situation would you want a reminder only to your text message but not on your calendar?

A: I would want both. In fact, it should be default that it adds to your calendar and it should have the option where you can add a reminder. Maybe have another column “add to calendar” instead of “add event” (vague) and “add reminder”.

Q: Suppose you want to know about all the career services center events. How would you go about doing that?

A: I would expect there to be a button on the default page. I would like for there to be on the page “add to calendar”.

**Revise the “Add Calendar” button” in the search events menu.

A: for “all campus events” I would like to see a calendar similar to the one on the main page. I would like to see “Academic” (in red) and “Social” (in blue).

Q: So you have to write a poli sci paper. What would you do to reminder yourself to do it but you don’t have a specific time set aside?

A: Add it to to-do. Type it into “Add to-do”. I prefer to see a bar spanning across all the days until the final day when the add to-do is.

JU would like to drag and drop a lot of events/deadlines.

Other Oberservations (not directly involving what we wanted to test for):

JU also introduced a new innovative graphical representation for the To Do list as a series of horizontal bars above the calendar. Each bar length representing how much time was remaining for the to do item. The  bar could be dragged, shortend, or lengthened instead of just indicating a deadline or not.

JU also suggested that the print menu be simplified, that the default print command should print what was displayed on the screen (the calendar) but not any headers or footers from the application.
