USER MK

Q: Where do you think you would find the button? [to show certain classes]

MK had difficulty trying to find such a feature. “I guess classes?”

-Thinks collapsible windows would help (one in which the user can check the box of the user)

Q: Say you found an event that you would like to attend but you didn’t know when it was. How would you go about finding event details?

MK: “I guess search?”

-Would type in career services center in “search”

Q: Say your event was “expanding your horizon?” How would you add this event?

MK: “add”

She would like to be able to see which calendar they are referring to on this event calendar. [Jonathan added the title: Calendar]

Q: Say you just wanted to find campus events?

MK: Type campus events in the search bar.

Q: What types of events would show up?

MK: A hodgepodge of everything in chronological order.

Q: What do you think about the “all campus events” link?

MK: It looks like it’s just a huge list of events in chronological order.

Q: If you were bored would you ever look at this huge list?

MK: Yes – and I would like it in a separate window.

Q: Say you clicked on “event details” – how would you like this screen to appear?

MK prefers to see a submenu as opposed to a pop-up screen.

Q: Suppose you wanted to find some more events similar to a particular event that you went to? How would you go about finding these events?

MK would do a new search.

Q: How would you go about adding a new calendar?

MK would click “import” and expect to be able to add a new one from there.

MK thinks that “to-do” and “personal” would have a lot overlap

Q: Say you had to make sure that you had to buy something at a grocery store before tomorrow? How would you go about making this type of reminder for yourself?

MK would go to “to do’ and click “add”

Q: How would go about making sure that you do this task?

MK would click on deadline. [a calendar pops up]

“I like how you can just click on the day and type in the time on that calendar”

Q: If the event doesn’t have a specified time, how would you like it to show up in the calendar?

MK: I don’t really like text message reminders.

MK thinks that an e-mail reminder wouldn’t be very useful because you’d have to assume that the user would check their e-mail.

-MK thinks that an e-mail reminder, however, would be helpful. If there would be a pop-up screen in which you can decide if you want an e-mail reminder in the beginning of the day of the event that would be good.

Q: Suppose it’s the beginning of the quarter and you want to print out a reminder of where all your classes – what would you do?

MK: Isolate “”classes and have that be the only one that’s checked.

*Changed from “class locations” to “Map of classes”

Q: If you clicked “custom” – what would you expect to see?

MK: The ability to mix and match?

-MK thinks that color coding would be helpful but be wary of having too many

“I think this is very intuitive”

General Observations not directly concerning what problems we tested for:

Fewer window popups.

Added events on calendar should by default be of a different color just to distinguish it.
